Pain Management

Cannabis has actually been used as an effective analgesic for thousands of years. In fact, one of the first recorded uses for Cannabis was for pain and inflammation of the joints. This has been confirmed by ongoing clinical studies in animals, which have demonstrated that CBD reduces pain and inflammation.
CBD manages pain by altering the way the central nervous system communicates the sensation of pain to the brain. For instance, when an injury occurs, the damaged tissue signals inflammatory and immune cells to begin repairing the damage. These cells release chemicals and proteins to activate nerve receptors. These signals move up the spinal cord and to the brain, causing us, or in this case our pets, to feel pain. CBD can be used to reduce pain safely and effectively, by weakening these pain signals.
We recommend our EASE tincture for pain management. It has frankincense and turmeric for added anti-inflammatory properties, which is great for arthritis, mobility issues and joint pain.
Generally, a dose of 20 mg of CBD is enough to manage chronic pain, but every dog/cat is different, so it takes some trial and error to find your pet's optimal dose (1 dropper full of Ease has 9mg of CBD). Split the full daily dose into 2-3 doses a day, as CBD stays in the bloodstream about 6-8 hours. For the fastest and best absorption, lift the lip and apply the dosage directly onto the gums. This is the most direct way into the bloodstream. You can also add it to food, but it can take significantly longer (30-45 minutes) to reach the bloodstream, as it works its way through the gastrointestinal system.
Be prepared to experiment with the dose during the first couple weeks of use as you figure out what works best for your pet. Consistency is super important! Here is more information on dosing.
