Open Wounds

When dealing with areas of broken skin, we recommend avoiding direct application of Remedy salve onto open wounds. Remedy contains plant-based ingredients that can irritate exposed flesh, so it’s best to apply it around the wound rather than directly on it. The salve will still absorb into the dermal layers and provide its benefits without causing unnecessary discomfort.

If the wound has opened as a result of using Remedy, you can continue applying the salve to the surrounding area but avoid the exposed flesh to prevent irritation.

For open wounds, we recommend using Soothe salve instead. Soothe is specially formulated with Manuka honey and other soothing ingredients that can speed up the healing process while being gentle on open skin. Manuka honey is known for its antimicrobial and wound-healing properties, making it an ideal choice for helping your pet recover.

To support healing, clean the area gently and apply Soothe salve directly to the wound as needed. Monitor the wound closely and keep it clean and covered if possible.
