According to research, there are many benefits to using CBD for pets with chronic kidney disease. CBD helps to balance the function of the kidneys by modulating CB1 and CB2 receptors. That being said, there is still much to learn about how specifically CBD rich hemp extract effects the function of kidneys.
For pets suffering from kidney disease, we recommend using our HEAL tincture.
Generally, 1mL (1 dropper full) of HEAL has 37mg of CBD. This should be suitable to manage some pain and help moderate function of the kidneys.
Split the full daily dose into 2-3 doses a day, as CBD stays in the bloodstream about 6-8 hours. For the fastest and best absorption, lift the lip and apply the dosage directly onto the gums. This is the most direct way into the bloodstream. You can also add it to food, but it can take significantly longer (30-45 minutes) to reach the bloodstream, as it works its way through the gastrointestinal system.
