How long does it take to work?

The effectiveness and timeframe of a pet's CBD or mushroom regimen can vary due to several factors. Each pet's reaction to CBD from a full-spectrum hemp extract and medicinal mushrooms depends on their metabolism, the sensitivity of their endocannabinoid system, their age, the condition being treated, and more.

Because these are natural products, we cannot predict specific outcomes or timeframes.

For lumps, the results can vary based on the size, type, and cellular composition of the growth. Some pets may start to see changes within a week or up to 30 days. For example, we had a dog at our rescue farm with a large wart-like tumor that took around 60 days to disappear. Consistency is key, so be sure to stay regular with the regimen and take photos to track progress.

We also recommend you consider the following:

- Just like humans, animals can react differently to CBD based on factors such as their age, metabolism, disease process, and overall health condition. What works well for one pet might not have the same effect on another. There is no single effective dose that will work for every dog, so it is easy to give too little or too much. This is why trial and error is vital. If you haven't already, I'd encourage you to check out our dosing guidelines page. Sensitivity to CBD ranges greatly from case to case, so you may need to adjust the amount of CBD you are giving until you find the right dose.

-It's important to note that CBD's impact on pets may not become immediately apparent and could require sustained use to fully gauge its effectiveness. As a pet parent, you may need to administer the product for an extended period before observing significant changes in your pet's condition. We believe in the importance of patience and consistent use when assessing CBD's efficacy for pets. Requesting refunds for products that haven't yielded immediate results could inadvertently undermine the significance of allowing time for the compound to take effect. We encourage you to continue using the product as recommended and monitor your pet's response over time.

-For many conditions, the benefits and positive effects of CBD require consistent use. It is important that you administer it every day, twice a day if possible.

-The best way to administer CBD is directly onto the gums. This method works best because the medicine is absorbed through the mucous membrane (transmucosal) in the mouth and then the full spectrum CBD extract goes directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive tract altogether.  This also minimizes the number of active compounds or cannabinoids that are lost in the digestive tract. It is best to administer CBD 2-3 times per day, as it will be mostly eliminated from our pets' bodies between 6-8 hours after administration.

-Salves: If you are not seeing the effects you expected from using a salve, it may be a good idea to pair the topical application with an oral tincture. This way, you get the benefits of localized therapy as well as the full-body benefits of CBD oil.
