CBD can be a great option for animals with various heart disease types. Some of the beneficial properties of CBD for heart disease include:
-Reducing blood pressure
-Vasodilation
-Moderate irregular heart beat
-Reduce inflammation and stress throughout the cardiovascular system.
Because of these effects, it is important to proceed with caution in cases of dogs with serious heart conditions. CBD may have an additive effect with the current heart medication, further reducing blood pressure. In some cases, this can raise heart rate, which can be dangerous. For this reason, we DO NOT recommend our HEAL tincture for animals with heart diseases.
Make sure you notify your veterinarian you are going to be using CBD from a full spectrum hemp extract, in case any adjustments need to be made in their medications. Once you've done that, I would recommend starting with our EASE tincture.
It is important to start with a low dose and work your way up. Start with a low dose, around 9 mg a day, applied to the gums (9mg = 1 full dropper of EASE). Monitor closely for any changes in behavior.
