Based on current research, CBD from full-spectrum hemp extract has not been conclusively demonstrated as an effective treatment for glaucoma. While CBD offers many benefits, such as pain management, anti-inflammatory properties, immune support, and neuroprotection, its role in managing glaucoma remains unclear and somewhat conflicting.

Research has shown that CBD can protect against glutamate-induced cell death, which suggests it may help slow the progression of glaucoma. However, other studies indicate that CBD does not lower intraocular pressure (IOP), a key factor in managing glaucoma. In some cases, research has even suggested that CBD could elevate IOP, which would be counterproductive as high IOP contributes to the pain and damage associated with glaucoma.

While CBD may not directly address the core issue of IOP, its pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory properties might still provide some comfort to pets dealing with the side effects of glaucoma. Monitoring and careful dosage adjustments are essential.
