Are Essential Oils/Extracts Toxic?
There’s a lot of confusion about the safety of essential oils for pets. While some essential oils can be harmful when improperly sourced or used, most negative reactions are linked to synthetic, low-quality, or improperly diluted oils — not pure, thoughtfully formulated essential oils. When carefully selected, sourced, and blended with pets in mind, essential oils can offer natural support for wellness and comfort.
We take great care in selecting the essential oils used in our products to ensure they are safe and effective when used as directed:
-
Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus Globulus): When properly diluted, eucalyptus can help support skin comfort and natural pest defense in dogs. However, because some cats have sensitive respiratory systems, we do not recommend using products containing eucalyptus, like Remedy, on cats.
-
Peppermint Oil: In its undiluted form, peppermint can be too strong, but when properly diluted and formulated for pets, it offers a cooling effect and can help maintain skin comfort without posing a risk to dogs.
-
Lemongrass Oil: Known for its natural cleansing properties, lemongrass helps support healthy skin and provides a fresh, natural scent.
-
Lavender Oil: Celebrated for its calming aroma, lavender is included in Calm to help promote relaxation and emotional balance.
-
Rosehip Seed Oil: Rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids, rosehip seed oil supports skin hydration and helps maintain skin resilience.
